Help safeguard critical habitat in Greater Yellowstone. Say No to Scott Well#2!

A little less than a year ago, more than 40,000 citizens told the Shoshone National Forest that Yellowstone's backyard is no place for oil wells. It's time to speak up again.
The Forest Service recently determined that Scott Well #2 — an oil well that Hudson Group LLC wants to drill in the heart of critical grizzly bear, lynx, and elk-migration habitat outside of Dubois, Wyo. — will not adversely affect wildlife and can move forward. We wholeheartedly disagree.
America's first national forest is too special to drill. This is our last chance to speak out and we need you to lend your voice right now! Hurry, the deadline is Oct. 12!
Although we have provided a form letter, a personal letter from you will have the most impact. Please tell the Forest Service in your own words that you oppose Scott Well #2, but that if the project is going to move forward anyway, the following must occur: - Hudson must post a reclamation bond to cover cleanup and restoration of surface damage, and set a realistic reclamation time line for the regeneration of shrub species.
- The company must hire independent consultants to monitor water quality and wildlife impacts, set enforceable standards, and have effective mitigation measures ready should problems occur.
- The project must use best available technology for drilling rigs and other equipment to reduce air pollution.
- No pits of any kind should be allowed at the well site.
- All waste materials, including cuttings from the drilling process and produced water, must be disposed off-site.
