Subject: Help Fight White-nose Syndrome with the click of a mouse
One of our key partners in the fight against White-nose Syndrome, The Nature Conservancy, is in the running to win $250,000 from Pepsi for an innovative project that could help find solutions for this devastating disease that has already killed more than one million bats.
Your vote<http://www.refresheverything.com/saveamericasbats> can help The Nature Conservancy in Tennessee build an artificial bat cave that could shelter and protect hibernating bats, while providing a safe test bed for potential treatments.
Some disinfectants and fungicides have been shown to kill the fungus associated with White-nose Syndrome. But applying such chemicals to caves could harm other cave organisms and upset the delicate balance of cave ecosystems.
If The Nature Conservancy in Tennessee wins the Pepsi Refresh Project, it will build the artificial cave near an existing bat-hibernation cave in Tennessee. The artificial cave won't house other animals and could be disinfected when bats are absent.
Please vote now<http://www.refresheverything.com/saveamericasbats> to help fund this very worthwhile project. Voting ends November 30th and every vote counts!
Best wishes,
Nina Fascione
