Learn About Co-existing With Coyotes

There's a lot of coyotes living in and around Calabasas and some local experts have tips on how to peacefully co-exist with the wild animal.

     

The city of Calabasas has scheduled a "Coyote Education Night" on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in Founders Hall at the Calabasas Public Library. The program's topics will include coyote ecology, do's and don'ts of living near coyotes, steps homeowners can take to protect their property and pets, as well as information on the city of Calabasas Coyote Management Plan.

The event will feature experts sharing valuable knowledge about safe co-existence with these native animals in urban environment, including speeches by Cindy Reyes, executive director of California Wildlife Center, Seth Riley from the National Park Service and Camilla H. Fox, Founder and Executive Director of Project Coyote.

A leading advocate for fostering humane and ecologically sound solutions to human-wildlife conflicts, Fox has spearheaded numerous campaigns focused on protecting native carnivores and fostering humane, ecologically sound solutions to human-wildlife conflicts.
