Hello all,

I am writing to tell you that I have completed my dissertation and turned it in to my graduate committee and will be defending it on February 22, 2012. I have attached a flyer with the details of my upcoming defense. I hope some of you will be able to join me, and that those who can't will think of me that day. My defense will be challenging, as all defenses are at my school.

I also want to say thank you. Many of you contributed to my dissertation by offering information, mentorship, encouragement, and friendship along the way. My work would not have been possible without your kindness and generosity, and I am deeply grateful to you.
