California SB 1221 bill to ban the hunting of Carnivores with Hounds and other means has just passed through Committee and is headed to the House for a vote.........Thanks to Senator Ted Lieu and Senate Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg for their proactive efforts!

California Senators seek to ban hunting Carnivores with Hounds

I just got a call from my old friend Rick Hopkins who just testified for the bill. Rick is a top predator ecologist, he also did the longest running cougar study ever done ( 13 years) in CA.
This is good in light to everything else that's happening around the country, again CA leads the way!

Subject: Califo9rnia SB 1221--Protect Predators Bill--Good news
Date: Tue, 24 Apr 2012 14:37:31 -0600

Hello, all--

Just off the phone with California Senator Ted Lieu's office. He sponsored SB 1221 with Senate head pro tem Darrell Steinberg to outlaw hunting predators bear, bobcats, wolves with dogs and other means in California. The bill was approved out of committee and next will go to the House. This despite the usual honking and tweeting by the California Cattlemens Association.

Please share with everyone and ask them to telephone the Senatorial offices and say thanks...and tell them we will do all we can to support anti-hunting and anti-trapping and anti-dog hunting actions. This is a step in the right direction....

Walk in Beauty on the Great Mother Earth,
Catherine
