In Central and South America, Ocelots are nocturnal hunters of small mammals and rodents...........The "hampster-looking" rodent, the Agouti is a favorite prey of the Ocelot and is most frequently captured if an individual animal is out just before sunrise or just after sunset.........Those Agoutis that wait to come out of their burrows after the early morning hours tend to have the longest lives, averting the night time roaming Ocelot
