A Denali National Park Wolf Study up in Alaska has reinforced the cohesive dynamic of the Pack as it relates to how all "hell breaks loose" when the alpha female and male get killed via human hunting and trapping,,,,,,,,,Social chaos ensues and the odds of Pack disintegration occurring is amplified up.........While I found the article below a bit confusing due to it putting forth the proviso that the aggregate ecosystem population of Wolves might not plummet due to individual Pack disruption, the bottom line is that Wolf management is not simply a "numbers game(as it is with ungulates like deer, moose, bison, Pronghorn et al............The family learning dynamic of a Wolf Pack and the "team dynamic" that makes a Wolf Pack a finely honed ecological services "organism" is wrecked havoc on via our senseless killing of these apex carnivores
