The Klinse-Za Caribou herd in Northeastern British Columbia was historically described as “a sea of caribou” before the building of the W.A.C. Bennett dam and the then created Williston Reservoir.........This impoundment blocked a key caribou migration route with the result being the once thousands stong herd is down to only 23 individuals............The hope is that the recent release of 10 adult females with 9 calves will ensure further breeding with the few males remaining in the region
