As the insightful and passionate author Rick Bass has been saying for years(Author-activist Rick Bass has written more than 20 books. He’s a board member of the Yaak Valley Forest Council: www.yaakvalley.org)., the few remaining Grizzly Bears that still call the Cabinet-Yaak watershed in northern Montana home need our protection if they are to perpetuate their numbers into the forever...................The Yaak is the wildest, most diverse valley in the West, home to grizzlies, wolverine, owls, eagles, wolves and pumas even though not one acre of this million acre paradise has been designated as wilderness, the designation that would do the most to optimize the numbers of Grizzlies and other wild creatures who call this place home...............Biologists and other USFW Officials are congratulating themselves on the fact that perhaps 50 of these Bruins exist in this watershed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,And that they seem to be slowly increasing their numbers..............What if there were only 50 human animals left in a given locale that once harbored thousands............Would we be patting ourselves on the back saying all is well?
