The seventh jaguar to be confirmed in the Southwest since 1996 was spotted in the Dos Cabezas Mountains of Arizona on November 16, 2016, 60 miles north of the Mexican border, the farthest north our largest "cat" has been documented in the USA in modern times .......All previous documented USA roaming Jaguars have been males and the sex of this newest cat is still to be determined.......No breeding population is documented in the USA and it is felt that this "Jag" is another prospector that has made its way north from Sonora, Mexico, the northern most breeding colony of Jaguars in the Americas
