Wisconsin State biologist Adrian Wydeven feels that "we are not seeing coyotes mate with wolves in the Great Lakes region"...................."Genetic research in our region shows that some of our wolves have some coyote genes, likely from hybridization from the historical past"................ "For the most part our wolves(Wisconsin) are a mix of smaller eastern wolves and the larger gray wolves"................. "We are not seeing breeding of coyotes on the landscape"......................"If you look at historical samples of the wolves, they were actually more predominately the smaller wolves earlier, and it's probably going more toward the larger gray wolves in part because, with the endangered species protection, wolves coming from Minnesota and those spreading from Ontario and Manitoba into Minnesota tend to be these larger gray wolves to the west".......... "That's what is spreading back into Wisconsin, so if anything it's probably tending toward more of the grayer wolf.".................

It is truly insulting in business when someone from a firm you are negotiating with thinks that they can make a blatantly false statement feeling that you are so clueless that you will buy into the statement without flinching............That is what Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks is in the process of doing in it's proclamation that their new PATCH OCCUPANCY MODELING PARADIGM most accurately projects the size of their Wolf population................Using deer and elk hunter "observations" of wolves to project wolf populations is like asking teen age boys to tell you how many pretty girls were in the bar last night................Highly exaggerated "body counts" can be expected in both the woods and the bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!
