Sad that even when the "people" speak clear and succinctly about the need to buy open space so as to optimize diversity, clean water, and recreational opportunities, the current Florida Republican Congressional Delegation orientations is to usurp the funds voted on for that purpose and instead utilize them for what they call "management" of existing parkland.................“We don’t need to be known as the hoarding-land state,” State Senator Alan Hays, a Republican, who is chairman of the Senate Appropriations subcommittee that allocates Amendment 1 money(derived from a real estate transfer tax approved by voters)...............Jeb Bush had voted for this amendment when he was Govenor and the use of half of the $750 million to go for land acquisition............So you see how far "right"(dimented) his Republican cohorts have become since he left Office a decade ago...........Wow is all I can say to this travesty...........It used to be that you could be a Conservative and vote for Clean Air, Wilderness, Endangered Species-----After all the root word of Conservative is CONSERVE!!!!
