The HENRY MOUNTAINS in southeastern Utah house 350 pure strain Bison(no domestic cattle gnes)----all descended from 20 Yellowstone Park animals that were transplanted into this part of the world in the 1940's............These animals have proven that free roaming Bison can exist alongside domestic cattle and not end up hybridizing with them,,,,,,,,,Additionally, this herd of Bison have not tested positive for brucellosis, the disease that cattle ranchers have forever warned would kill off their domestic stock if Bison were once again allowed to roam freely on the land...............Might we one day see Bison herds on the Plains, the same way we see Elk, deer and Pronghorn utilizing the region?
