Sergio Avila of Sky Island Alliance contacted me this week regarding the Ocelot in Cochise County,Arizona that was photographed on a remote sensing camera. Both Jauars and Ocelots stubbornly "drawing a line in the sand" and stating emphatically that if we human animals give them half a chance, they will gladly begin to re-wild the USA..............How do we keep out the illegal human animals while allowing our native cats re-entrance into the USA? That damn border fence is sure not the answer..................This reporter is not qualified to volunteer what the solution should be on illegal human immigration into our Country.........................I DO EMPHATICALLY SUPPORT THE RE-ENTRY AND BACK-AND-FORTH-AT-WILL TRAVEL OF OUR NATIVE ANIMALS AND PLANTS ACROSS ARTIFICALLY DESIGNATED HUMAN BORDERS......................GO OCELOTS.............GO JAGS!!!!!!

Last week, Sky Island Alliance announced that in partnership with Patagonia and the Freedom to Roam Coalition, volunteer citizens retrieved the image of an ocelot in Cochise County, Arizona. The photograph, dated November 7, 2009, was captured with a remote sensing camera located only 40 miles north of the international border. Today, Sky Island Alliance released the original ocelot photo.
