I thought you might be interested in this peer reviewed paper that just came out. Many of us (and others) talk about how it is useless to kill coyotes to kill them, because they just come back in numbers (see Rye, NY situation). Here is some evidence that it is useless, some of the first quantitative data that I am aware of. It documents a pack doubling in density following a breeding male getting killed.
