Grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, coyotes, cougars/ mountain lions, bobcats, wolverines, lynx, foxes, fishers and martens are the suite of carnivores that originally inhabited North America after the Pleistocene extinctions. This site invites research, commentary, point/counterpoint on that suite of native animals (predator and prey) that inhabited The Americas circa 1500-at the initial point of European exploration and subsequent colonization. Landscape ecology, journal accounts of explorers and frontiersmen, genetic evaluations of museum animals, peer reviewed 20th and 21st century research on various aspects of our "Wild America" as well as subjective commentary from expert and layman alike. All of the above being revealed and discussed with the underlying goal of one day seeing our Continent rewilded.....Where big enough swaths of open space exist with connective corridors to other large forest, meadow, mountain, valley, prairie, desert and chaparral wildlands.....Thereby enabling all of our historic fauna, including man, to live in a sustainable and healthy environment. - Blogger Rick

Subject: Canadian Wolf Coalition Continues to Grow
Hello Canadian Wolf Coalition supporters.  Wolf conservation concerns across Canada are growing despite a greater appreciation for the important role wolves play in balancing nature and ecosystems.  I am thrilled to say that the CWC has become so large that it is TOO BIG for one person to continue to organize on an independent volunteer basis, thanks to all of YOU who have helped it grow into something that people of all backgrounds are now paying attention to
I have been honoured, moved, humbled, and empowered in helping to create this grassroots organization, and I urge you to stay informed and stay involved.   Wolves need your help now more than ever.
The Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre will be taking on the responsibility of continuing the progress that the CWC has made; forming relationships for wolf conservation across Canada and uniting the voices of those concerned.  This is where the concept was developed, and the Northern Lights Wolf Centre is open to the public every single day to educate about the issues at hand as well as having staff year round to help see goals accomplished....but they can't do it without your help!
Visit www.northernlightswildlife.com for more information about the learning centre.
Thank you to all of you who have helped to create the Canadian Wolf Coalition over the years.  Your input, letter writing, feedback, creativity, research, time and energy is so appreciated and critical for helping wolves remain wild and free.
I will be working for wolves as an independent and add another name to the list of CWC supporters!  If any of you would like to contact me in the future regarding wolf related issues please use my personal e-mail address sadester@hotmail.com.  This address (Canadianwolfco@gmail.com) will remain the e-mail for the CWC and be handled by the Northern Lights staff.
Thank you again for believing that TOGETHER we can make a difference.  The CWC voice is getting loud and strong....keep HOWLING!
Most sincerely, Sadie Parr
