How about some hope for the climate, Barack?
What happens when the rule of law doesn't exist? That's the question climate activist Tim DeChristopher askedhimself when he was sentencedto two years in prison this past July for standing up to the fossil fuelindustry.
His crime? Taking a stand against corporate greed and environmental destruction and against our federalgovernment's refusal toconfront global warming. Instead of sitting on the sidelines, he chose to disrupt a legally questionable Bureau of Land Management oil and gas lease auction.
Well, it's time for us to stand with Tim.
Tell President Obama to pardon Tim DeChristopher, and to deny approval of the Keystone Tar SandsPipeline. Tim's not the real crook. It's the oil and gas companies that will stop at nothing to drill every last corner of theAmerican West, it's corporate lobbyists and the lawmakers they support who are unraveling our environmental safety nets, and it's President Obama, who refusesto stand up for science, for common sense, and for our future generations.
After all, it was President Obama's Justice Department who asked a federal court to sentence Tim to the maximum 10 years in prison.
And now, it's President Obama who is poised toapprove the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, which will transport 900,000 barrels of the world's dirtiest oil from Canada to the United States everyday. It's an environmentaldisaster of huge proportions, just waiting to happen.
The President needs to hear from you. Ask him to take a stand against the profiteers who are making mayhem with the public's health and the environment for their personal gain.
This isn't justice, it's not leadership, and it's certainly not environmental stewardship. This is an Administration that has lost its bearings.
Join us intelling President Obama to pardon Tim DeChristopher and take a stand for our future against this oil pipeline disaster.
The future is in our hands. Let's make a stand for our friends, our families, and the earth that supports us. It's worth"fighting for alivable future."

Our President going "belly up" on every initiative to either block destructive wildlife habitat endeavors or promote and implement positive ones................Is there a candidate out there that can put into law groundrules that will simultaneously stimulate the private business community to expand and hire more workers while simultaneously "giving their heart to the hawks" and standing up for rewilding?
