Hi Rick,
I was just about to email you about my trip down there on Wed. The Calabasas City Council meeting is Wed. eve. More info. here:
Regarding habituated coyotes, we suggest hazing which has been successfully employed in several communities across North America. I'm attaching a paper I wrote on the subject here for your interest.
Any chance you'll be grounded by Wed. and able to meet when I'm down your way in Calabasas on Wed. or Thurs. morning? I'd welcome the opportunity to meet in person. We're also encouraging people to attend and speak at the hearing on Wed. so any help you can provide in getting folks there would be greatly appreciated (and very much appreciate you posting our post earlier on your blog).
All best,
Camilla

Camilla……………I continue my travel…………how did the town meeting go in Calabasas?
What do you say to folks in communities where coyotes are already habituated to neighborhoods and killing dogs……………How do you change the behavior of the existing coyotes (as people still have to walk their dogs)without killing them?...............Yes, cats can be kept inside,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but some communities have dogs snatched off leashes while owner walks them…………………….how do you employ behavior modification on those coyotes who have learned to enjoy eating dogs?
