Will the Federal Government infuse Grizzlies into North Cascades National Park in Washington State as they are claiming to be considering doing?........If this occurs, the bears will have 10,000 square miles of alpine meadows, granite peaks and sagebrush filled valleys to wander in..................The U.S.F.W Service feels that 200 Griz could occupy this Park if all goes well.......... The last spotting of a Grizzly in this region was in 2010, likely a migrant from Canada...............There is no evidence that the bears currently occupy this Park and the National Park Service now has set aside $700,000 to do a 3 year feasibility study to determine if Gizzlies could successfully make a living here............Noting the probability of Bears actually being released, one should look at the last type study and re-introduction of Griz in the Montana and Idaho Bitteroot Mountains where the Feds were ready to introduce the bears until President Bush vetoed the plan..............Lots of Rancher and political interests against all carnivore re-introductions.................Let us see how all of this unfolds and hope for a breakthrough where science weighs heavier than politics
