So what did the Feds expect to have happen when they went "belly up" and caved to Maine's request to allow trapping of Coyotes in critical habitat where endangered Lynx dwell??????????They now have the answer that they knew all along but conveniently chose to sweep under the rug---DEATH OF TWO LYNX BY TRAPPING!-----So these Lynx deaths have invoked a provision in the Maine trapping paradigm that for now will prohibit the use of the conibear traps, as well as foothold traps in elevated setups, within zones occupied by lynx.............. Conibears may still be used if set on the ground with “lynx exclusion devices,” and foothold traps may still be used if set on the ground.................Hopefully, Lynx will somehow avoid these remaining trap set ups..............Will the USFW Service ever grow some cajones and step up and do right by our carnivore suite?

The United States FWS, as well as the state fish and wildlife departments are nothing but flunkies working in the service of ranchers, extractors, and hunters. It is a disgrace that the voice of the people cannot be heard above the demands for more public grazing land, more drilling, more hunting and trapping. Of course, too many aren't paying attention. That is how special interests get their way.
