Grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, coyotes, cougars/ mountain lions, bobcats, wolverines, lynx, foxes, fishers and martens are the suite of carnivores that originally inhabited North America after the Pleistocene extinctions. This site invites research, commentary, point/counterpoint on that suite of native animals (predator and prey) that inhabited The Americas circa 1500-at the initial point of European exploration and subsequent colonization. Landscape ecology, journal accounts of explorers and frontiersmen, genetic evaluations of museum animals, peer reviewed 20th and 21st century research on various aspects of our "Wild America" as well as subjective commentary from expert and layman alike. All of the above being revealed and discussed with the underlying goal of one day seeing our Continent rewilded.....Where big enough swaths of open space exist with connective corridors to other large forest, meadow, mountain, valley, prairie, desert and chaparral wildlands.....Thereby enabling all of our historic fauna, including man, to live in a sustainable and healthy environment. - Blogger Rick

Dear Community and Advocacy Family,

On behalf of wildlife communities we could sure use your help in spreading the word about our first fundraiser Saturday, May 23rd, 2015. Sharing this announcement is the first and vital step. It is easy to view our amazing auction raffle items and art exhibits that have been so generously donated from across the globe.

If you are unable to join us May 23rd, join us virtually! Raffle tickets can be purchased on-line and we will do the rest. Just let us know which items you want a chance to win and we will put the ticket in the basket and notify you if you win! Our universal community members that are unable to attend, have even purchased an event ticket and donated this back to CWC, which we in turn, pass on to another to attend! What a wonderful way to make a difference from across the country and beyond!
We are counting on you, our generous supporter and advocacy friend, to forward our event to everyone in your social media circle. Your ticket and raffle chance purchases provide CWC with the much needed funds to continue our community outreach goals and education initiatives.

We look forward to seeing you May 23rd at White Oaks Resort and Spa!

For the wild ones,
Lesley Sampson
