Help Save Oregon's Cougars from Sport Hunting
Three bills (HB 2337, HB 3326, and HB 3428) have been introduced to overturn the ban on hunting cougars with hounds in Oregon. These irresponsible plans would steal from the voters' will (Oregonians voted TWICE -- Measure 18 and Measure 11 -- to protect cougars from hounds). These bills, if passed, will harm the natural ecosystem and support black market poaching of wildlife parts and cougar cubs.
The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) has no sustainable cougar management plan... only Bills to kill them. Please sign this petition to say NO to these three bad bills, and to demand that ODFW get an outside unbiased-peer review of their cougar population and the policies that impact the species. Measure 18 -- which banned the use of hounds when hunting cougars -- should be honored and upheld!

The MOUNTAIN LION FOUNDATION is seeking the support of all of us to prevent the three House of Rep. bills in the Oregon Statehouse that would permit Cougar hunting with hounds from becoming law.........We have reviewed this issue week after week on this blog and we agree with the Mountain Lion Foundation about the fact that the exisitng law (voted on twice by Oregon voters) prohibiting Cougars from being hunted with hounds should remain in effect........Washington State's LARGE CARNIVORE LAB has done extensive research which strongly reveals that increased killing of adult Cougars(the goal of hound hunting) will likely bring even more conflicts between Lion and Man
