Our friend Michael Kellett of RESTORE(THE NORTH WOODS) has penned an authoritative and compelling paper entitled: HIGH ALLEGHENY NATIONAL PARK & PRESERVE PROPOSAL: AN ANALYSIS OF MAJOR ISSUES........Michael goes point by point explaining his position that a combined National Park/Preserve carved out of the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia would offer a real opportunity to reintroduce Wolves and Pumas back into the Appalachians............His take is that both politically and in actual practice, most of our National Forest Lands do not offer "CORE" protection status for the myriad of animals that need some or a lot of separation from man(at least initially) to get a toe-hold and become established upon re-introduction.............Strong paper Michael and thanks!
