Ocelots (Leopardus pardalis) (Linnaeus, 1758) are one of the most common "wild cats in Central and South America......... In the absence of large carnivores, Ocelots can function as an apex predator.............Despite occupying numerous habitats across its range, including human-dominated landscapes, there is limited information on how ocelots use fragmented landscapes...........Columbia, South American researchers tracked a female ocelot in a fragmented landscape of the Caribbean region (Colombia) and found that the "Cat" can use wildland fragments amidst agricultural lands to persist when larger predators are not in the habitat
