Bobcats are spreading out and recolonizing New England..........Rhode Island via researchers from the Dept. of Environmental Mgmt and the U. of Rhode Island have initiated a 5 year program to determine population size and how the "cats" are using habitat.........It is heartening to know that Bobcats have been sighted in nearly every community in mainland Rhode Island..............This, when as recently as 2008, "Bobs" were thought to be "extremely rare" to non-existent here
