The National Park Service has collared and studied 35 Pumas in the Greater Los Angeles area since 2002............Now, for only the 2nd time over that span, a young female Puma successfully crossed one of the busiest freeways in the USA, the 101 Freeway, north of Los Angeles in Camarillo.............Will she be able to successfully cross agricultural and suburban development land and adhere to a sliver of natural habitat leading to the Santa Susana Mtns to the the north where she might find a mate and raise kittens of her own?...........This accomplishment of crossing the 101 brings renewed attention to the quest of SoCal environmentalist to acquire funds to build a wildlife crossing at the Liberty Canyon exit on the 101, at the border of L.A. and Ventura Counties..............Time for the charitable donations to make this crossing a reality before developers usurp this last remaining spot on the roadway where natural habitat exists for the animals of the Santa Monica's to spread their genes far and wide.
